Bass fishing on Belton Lake has slowed a little, good fish can be found on long points and humps fishing a watermelonseed baby brush hog in 25 to 45 foot deep on a C-Rig. This is were the big bass are to be found. Early in the morning smaller to keeper size bass can be caught on clear Spook Jr. on main lake points up to the sand flats. Hybrid Striped Bass are good on live bait and jigging spoons in 40 to 50 foot just off Temple Lake Flats or in 30 to 35 up on the flats early and late. Small schools of white bass can be found breaking the supface throughout the lake but these are short lived, a chrome blue rattle trap will work well on these fish.
